It is located six kilometers from the city of Cusco. Etymologically Puka means red and Pukara means checkpoint or fort. Being a construction located on a counter fort of a mountain, it is composed by a little square where you can observe rooms, terraces, channels, having all the characteristics of a military fort as the entrance to Tambomachay.
